The Beriti washing station - where farmers carry their ripe bags of coffee fruit to be dried - is located by the town of Tore in southern Ethiopia. Typically, individual farmers will bring just a couple of bags of fruit, representing their years harvest, to the washing station. The coffee is dried in the sun on long raised beds, turned frequently, until all the fruity goodness is absorbed into the coffee seed (or bean). This is one of our most distinctive coffees, with a melange of darker fruit notes, a creamy texture, and some milk chocolate to anchor it all.
